Happy in new Assisted Living Community
This month we helped a family whose aunt with Alzheimer’s was being released from a healthcare facility and desperately wanted to return home. Her family was not convinced that was best. We visited with her at her facility to get to know her, toured her home to determine if it was safe enough for her to return to, and determined it was not. We then were able to share with her how she would be more comfortable in an assisted living residence. She agreed, after our taking her there for a nice lunch and visit, and agreed to moved in this week. When we checked back with her today to see if we could come by to visit, she said “No….she would be too busy going to the casino with friends.” It made me feel good that she has settled in and improved her social life.
